Community Initiatives
Let’s foster wellness together through these community initiatives.
Activate Youth for Mental Health
Offering trainings within Omaha Public Schools to reduce crisis situations and increase mental health literacy in students, staff, and families.
Head to Heart
Encouraging Black-owned barbershops and salons to use their businesses as wellbeing hubs to connect clients to mental health resources.
Health & Housing Coalition
Gathers to address the medical and care needs of those experiencing homelessness and ensures medical respite for the Greater Omaha area.
Parent & Family Cohort
Eight-week class for parents with children ages 3-10 years old to learn and practice developmentally informed strategies for positive behavior.
Regional Health Council
A group that addresses the most pressing health needs by creating a unified and strategic response across counties in Nebraska and Iowa.
Safe Routes to Healthy Places
Fosters wellness by working to ensure all people are safe and supported when walking, rolling, and biking to nearby destinations.
Trek Up the Tower
The race is on to support community and workplace wellness! This fun fundraiser features a race to the top of the First National Tower.
WhatMakesUs
Working to change the conversation around mental health in Omaha, Council Bluffs, and surrounding counties through this stigma-reduction campaign.

Quarterly Mental Health Roundtable

Purpose: Join The Wellbeing Partners as we discuss ongoing efforts to prioritize mental health, including the Metro Region’s Community Health Improvement Plan, 2024 Community Health Assessment, and the WhatMakesUs stigma reduction campaign. Community partners will have a chance to share any relevant mental health and wellbeing updates. Audience: community members and community organizations in Cass (NE), Douglas (NE), Pottawattamie (IA), and Sarpy (NE) counties.
